World Alliance of YMCAs

YMCA is one of the oldest and largest youth-focused movements in the world. We operate in 120 countries, reaching 45 million young people. YMCAs are rooted in their communities and offer programmes based on local priorities and issues affecting young people and their communities. The YMCA is also one of the largest employers of young people in the world.

Our global reach enables us to scale initiatives in multiple countries and foster sharing and learning across borders and cultures, helping young people to develop a global mindset.

Young people

Empowering youth to design their career journeys

The Youth-Led Solutions Initiative (YLSI): The Future of Work will contribute to young people's workforce readiness through a three-day educational Summit focusing on three new economies including green, care, and creative economies, after which young people will apply their knowledge in designing and testing solutions to local youth employment challenges or in business ideas, with support from the local YMCAs and mentors. The duration of this programme is expected to be one year. The target number of young people is 1,000 from 100 communities.
