Korea Employment Information Service (KEIS) launches second commitment to the Global Initiative on D

The Korea Employment Information Service (KEIS) has pledged a new commitment to the UN Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth generating good practices on career guidance and job support services through the University Job Plus Center Project. The University Job Plus Center Project, supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) and executed by Job Plus Centers in universities nationwide, has been operational since 2015. It focuses on enhancing career guidance and job support across 117 universities in South Korea.

The commitment focuses on two key areas:

  1. An overview of the employment services provided by the University Job Plus Centers to assist young students and local youth in their transition to employment, and

  2. A compilation of best practices on career guidance and job support.

Through this commitment, active from May 2024 to December 2025, KEIS will once again bring evidence from Korea to the global network of Decent Jobs for Youth partners and practitioners designing and implementing employment services for youth, including programmatic lessons for developing countries.

KEIS will work closely with the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor in the implementation of this commitment, therefore securing synergies and sustainability.

The Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
Decent Jobs for Youth was launched in 2016 as a UN System-wide effort for the promotion of youth employment worldwide. The Global Initiative is a hub for catalyzing partnership, collaboration, and coordinated action at country and regional levels with the aim to facilitate increased impact and expanded country-level action on decent jobs for youth through multi-stakeholder partnerships.
